Merritt updates...

This weekend Merritt is 4 and a half months old. She is such a happy baby. She loves to talk, smile, play and figure things out. She is slowly starting to giggle and we get sooo excited! Her teachers at daycare say she doesn't miss much, very alert. She can roll over both ways. Her upper body is getting stronger and she is gaining more control of her arms and legs. Her movements are more purposeful now; she grabs at faces, toys, blankets, binkis, anything she wants to explore and wants to put everything in her mouth. She has officially become a thumb baby. She reminds me of Sarah as a itter bitter; she grabs a bit of blanket up by her face and sucks her thumb.
She is becoming more independent. She doesn't need me or Tom 24/7 anymore, she can entertain herself. We bought her a walker and she LOVES it! She amazes herself that she can move around and have a say where she goes.......she is starting the walking process!!!! Unbelievable!
She still (thank goodness) sleeps through the night 10-12 hours! No, this is not an exaggeration and yes, we know how lucky we are :)
Last weekend we started her on cereal and she is doing pretty well. She doesn't hate it, but still doesn't know how to keep the mushy stuff in her mouth.
On 9/10 at her 4month check up, she weighed 13 lbs 13 oz and measured 25 3/4 in. She is still pretty long and lean, but is slowly starting to fill out.
I am absolutely in love with this little human! She is the best, coolest, most awesome baby in the world! I love being, not just a mom, but her mom!

Colonial Merritt

We took Merritt to Valley Forge National Park this weekend (see link for more info on Valley Forge) and snapped the above shot. One of the highlights of Grandpa Jerry's visit to Philly over the Labor Day weekend.
More photo/video updates are on the way, promise!
